Where it all began
From a business idea to a bridge to Colombia
Our story began with a simple observation and grew into a mission to bring Colombia a little closer to the world.

Before Patria Shop, Edwin Gallego had already built a beauty products business that also exported to the United States.

On his trips to the U.S. he noticed that many everyday products from Latin America were not easy to find, and how much potential there was to connect people with them.

He first imagined a platform for all of Latin America. Then he realized every country has its own stories worth telling, and chose to begin with the one he knew best.

Edwin Gallego
Founder of Patria Shop
Every country has its own identity and stories worth telling. I decided to start with the place I know best: Colombia.
Edwin spent most of his life in Colombia and built his experience in ecommerce through a beauty products business that also exported to the United States.
While traveling to the U.S. for work, he saw how much potential there was to connect people living there with the products, traditions and cultural experiences they knew and loved. In 2026 he made the United States his home, closer than ever to the communities Patria Shop hopes to serve.

A connection to home
Patria Shop was created to make Colombian products easier to discover and bring a little piece of home closer to those who miss it. From familiar foods and traditional games to cultural treasures, gifts and everyday favorites.
But our mission goes beyond nostalgia. We want to help artisans, small manufacturers and independent businesses introduce their work to new audiences in the United States. Their creativity deserves to be discovered, their stories deserve to be shared, and their products deserve the opportunity to travel further.
